March 3, 2008. The Shrove in the southeast of Moscow.
Within five days from March, 5 till March, 9th in manor of the Grandfather of the Frost in Kuzminsky wood in the southeast of Moscow will take place Shrove celebratory actions. On the data received by the correspondent of news agency REGNUM from the press-service of prefecture of Southeast administrative district of Moscow, on March 5, 6 and 7 on the main area of manor will take place performances of folk-ethnic collective "Alevtina" with the program "Wide Shrove". In the days off on March, 8 and 9 the program will be continued, and on March, 9th in the park solemn procession and traditional burning of a stuffed animal of the Shrove will take place.
National celebratory actions will take place in district parks. In Durasov's palace in park Ljublino in the afternoon on March, 9 there will be an excursion-art program "the Shrove in a palace" which will be finished by a street holiday "the Shrove in a mansion" with burning of a stuffed animal of the Shrove. From 11:00 children's holiday reproducing atmosphere of children's morning performances which took place in city houses and manors 200 years ago will begin in the palace. The dramatized musical representation for adults "the Shrove in a mansion" and a folk holiday with traditional performances of street actors of a puppet theatre, ceremonial songs, games, attractions and so on will take place in the afternoon.
On March, 9 in a recreation park "Kuzminki" there will take place the large quantities-game program, performance of folk group "Oberegy". The holiday will come to the end with burning of a stuffed animal of the Shrove during the performance of folklore collective "Russia". In park ensemble "Lefortovo" the historical dramatized representation "the Shrove of times of Peter the Great" on March, 9 will be spent. Traditionally in ecological-educational centre "Kuzminki" on March, 8 at midday celebrating KuzShrove-2008 will begin. In the program - customs of olden time, a straw workshop of dolls and animals, a platform of national crafts, demonstration birds of prey and a falconry, games, competitions.
